Vastu Degree Wheel: Best Degrees for Your Main Door

See which compass degrees suit a main entrance, on a wheel built around your plot.

The outer ring holds the 32 padas, each 11.25 degrees wide. Tap any one to see its degrees and its rating for a main door.

The inner ring shows the 16 zones (22.5 degrees each). The shaded zones N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW are the eight main directions. The coloured outer ring is what rates a door, so use it to choose the entrance.

How to Find Your Door's Degree

  1. Stand inside the house at the main door and look outward, the way the door faces.
  2. Open the compass on your phone, hold the phone flat and well away from metal, and read the degrees.
  3. Use True North. A phone compass often shows Magnetic North, which differs by about 12 degrees in Sydney. Check the correction for your suburb on the Geoscience Australia magnetic declination calculator.
  4. Find that degree on the wheel. If the pada is green, the door suits the traditional rules. If it is gold or pink, look at the remedies.
